- Tree Plantation Drive – 28 July, 2023
In a significant effort towards environmental conservation, Green Valley Green Nepal, Rotary Club of Dhulikhel, and Rotary Club of Kavre Valley joined hands with the KU for a tree plantation drive. The event was made possible with the generous support and presence of Team Laxmi Sunrise Bank, Panauti Branch. A total of 700 plants were diligently planted across various locations within the KU premises. AICKU facilitated the successful organization of the event.
- Academia-Industry Meet 2023 – 29 December, 2023
AICKU organized its first Academia-Industry Meet on 29 December, 2023 to bridge academia, industry, and government to build a better nation together. It brought together leaders from academia, industry, and government to discuss the possibilities of industrial development and economic progress. The programme was attended by Dr Baburam Bhattarai, former Prime Minister of Nepal; Mr. Surendra Pandey, former Minister of Finance; Mr. Sur Krishna Baidhya, Senior Deputy Chairperson of FNCCI; Mr. Baburam Gautam, Director-General of Department of Industry; Prof. Dr. Achyut Wagle, Registrar of KU; and Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, Vice-Chancellor of KU, along with many other dignitaries.
- Brain Drain vs Gain Symposium 2024 – 20 March, 2024
This event was organized by AICKU in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Dhulikhel and Rotaract Kathmandu University. This event united industry experts, academics, and policymakers to discuss and find solutions for challenges in academic institutions as well as industries and discuss the role of government.
- YUWA: A Talk Show – 27 June, 2024
‘YUWA: A Talk Show’ was organized by Youth For Change – Kathmandu University in collaboration with AICKU. The event was a dynamic talk show featuring an incredible lineup of panelists who are making waves in their respective fields, to empower the youth of Nepal through insightful discussions and transformative ideas.
- Academia-Industry Workshop – May-August, 2024
Academia-Industry Workshop was organized by AICKU in collaboration with the Energize Nepal Program in all provinces of Nepal. This event unites industry experts and academics to ensure that R&D efforts are aligned with industry priorities and supported by enabling policies and infrastructure which is essential for addressing energy challenges effectively.
- Seminar on ‘Nepal-Japan Collaboration for Environmental Sustainability, Earthquake Resilience and Youth Empowerment’ – 9 August, 2024
The seminar titled “Nepal-Japan Collaboration for Environmental Sustainability, Earthquake Resilience, and Youth Empowerment” was successfully held, organized by AICKU in partnership with Japan’s Tiger Mov, Inc. The event brought together youth from Nepal and Japan to confront pressing challenges such as waste management, earthquake preparedness, and youth empowerment. The seminar featured insightful presentations and interactive sessions, facilitating a rich exchange of ideas between the two countries. Following the seminar, attendees enjoyed a networking lunch, which provided further opportunities to engage and build connections.
7. Talk Show with BYD – 6 September, 2024
After the inauguration of the BYD charging station at Kathmandu University, a talk show was organized by AICKU in collaboration with BYD. Mr. Liu Xueliang, General Manager of BYD Asia-Pacific auto sales division delivered a guest lecture, highlighting the importance of electric mobility and the role of BYD in revolutionizing the automotive industry. He emphasized the significance of partnerships between educational institutions and industry leaders, such as BYD’s collaboration with Kathmandu University, to advance research and innovation in clean energy technologies. His insights provided students and faculty with a deep understanding of the growing global demand for electric vehicles and the critical role universities can play in driving sustainable development.
