To combat the widespread brain drain and uphold its responsibilities, Kathmandu University (KU) has launched a KU Employment Promotion Program. This program provides job opportunities within its own system and outside the university to its top graduates from various departments and programs. The university also aims to give its graduates a natural growth path and ensure they have work experience before entering the competitive job market.
Facilitated and managed by AICKU, the KU Employment Promotion Program is designed to provide opportunities for students making them more skilled, competent and ready for global markets. The aim of the program is to provide job opportunities to 80 top graduates per year and equip them with skills to compete in the global market. Around 30 recent graduates have already been recruited in the first year of operation.
This initiative is an integral part of the strategy to combat brain drain and empower young graduates. The program’s effectiveness and adherence to the KU Employment Promotion Guidelines is monitored and evaluated by the KU Employment Promotion Committee.
